The Labour Department has brought 25 prosecutions over a fire at the Wang Fuk Court building renovation site in Tai Po that killed five personnel working for engineering contractors.
The prosecutions target relevant parties including contractors, engineering consultants and individual people considered responsible. The reports provided do not identify the defendants or specify the charges against them.
The department said the cases were brought under the Factories and Industrial Undertakings Ordinance (Cap. 59), by way of indictment, after it consulted the Department of Justice.
