Accuracy and evidence

We base articles on identifiable source reports and retain the original publisher links behind each story. We do not present unresolved discrepancies as settled fact.

Social posts may help us discover a story, but they are not treated as verified evidence on their own.

Synthesis, not republishing

Our articles synthesize and attribute reporting. We do not aim to reproduce or literally translate a publisher’s full article.

Automation and accountability

We use automation throughout collection, comparison, editorial assessment, writing, review and publication. Every published article is expected to meet the same standards for evidence, attribution and accuracy, regardless of which parts of its production were automated.

We design our systems to preserve an auditable connection between published claims and their supporting sources, and to route uncertainty or conflicting evidence for additional scrutiny.

Images, generation and rights

We may use original photography, licensed or rights-approved images, and generated editorial illustrations. Generated images are clearly labelled and must not be presented as photographs or as evidence that a depicted scene occurred.

An image appearing in a source report does not give newsdesk permission to reuse it. Image provenance, usage rights and generation details are recorded as appropriate.
