Source transparency

How we source our reporting

Every newsdesk article is connected to the reports used to produce it, so readers can see where the reporting began.

What we monitor

We monitor Hong Kong news outlets and other relevant public sources. We prefer public APIs, RSS or Atom feeds, sitemaps and publisher listing pages where available.

What appears on an article

The “Sources used” panel links to the original publisher reports and names each source. When several reports cover the same event, we may combine them into one sourced article.

What a source link means

A link identifies reporting used as evidence. It does not imply that the source endorses newsdesk, or that newsdesk endorses every statement published by that source.
