A customer at 2nd STREET’s Yuen Long YOHO branch said in a Threads post that, while preparing to undress in a fitting room, they saw a CCTV camera above it reflected in the mirror and immediately crouched down.

The store removed the camera after learning of the concern and apologised for causing customers concern and distrust. It acknowledged that placing the camera above the fitting room was a decision made without sufficient consideration.

2nd STREET said the camera’s angle and recording range had been checked during installation to ensure it did not capture the fitting-room interior. It said a subsequent review of recorded footage confirmed that customers’ privacy in the room had not been breached.

The store said it would review CCTV arrangements across all its outlets to help prevent a similar incident.
