Housing Secretary Winnie Ho said 90.4% of Wang Fuk Court owners had signed their sale agreements by 30 September. Owners must complete the process by 15 October, while flat selection under the special sales plan began on 29 September.

The plan was created for Wang Fuk Court owners after the estate fire. After the government’s acquisition proposal deadline passed on 31 August, 99.3% of owners across blocks A to H had confirmed their intention to sell their ownership interests to the government. About 1,700 households chose the special sales plan.

Ho said the long-term arrangement is intended to give owners a home-ownership option and a stable housing arrangement.
