At least three crashes were reported on Tuen Mun Road towards Yuen Long within about 20 minutes on October 9.

Police received a report of the first crash at 5:53pm, near Siu Hong Station. Four private cars collided in the fast lane, leaving five people slightly injured. Four were taken by ambulance to Tuen Mun Hospital for treatment.

Circulating dashcam footage showed a motorcyclist swerving clear of the collision.

Police received a report at 6:05pm of a collision between a light goods vehicle and a private car. At 6:11pm, they received a report of another crash between two private cars near Siu Hong Station. Three people were injured in that collision and declined hospital treatment.

The Transport Department said some Yuen Long-bound lanes near Siu Hong Station were temporarily closed and had reopened after 7pm. At 7:40pm, Google Maps showed the queue stretching more than 10km. HK01 later reported that it gradually eased as the road was cleared.
