A 36-year-old Australian man was arrested after reports of an object resembling a pistol led police to a bar on Temple Street in Jordan on the night of September 30.

Police were first alerted at about 10pm to a suspicious man carrying a similar-looking object in a rear lane near 213 Shanghai Street in Yau Ma Tei. He then entered a bar at 192 Temple Street, where the person in charge reported him to police. Officers found him inside and seized a suspected replica airgun or replica-style pistol.

The man was arrested on suspicion of possessing an imitation firearm. Anti-terror tactical officers also attended the scene. According to HK01, some officers carried firearms and stood guard near the scene.

While detained at Yau Ma Tei police station, the man allegedly became agitated and damaged a wall and a smoke detector. He was also arrested on suspicion of criminal damage. Nobody was injured, according to i-CABLE News.
