Secretary for Development Bernadette Linn Hon-ho said officials would pursue anyone found to have failed in their duties or engaged in deception over reported reinforcement problems at ONE STANLEY. She said action, including under the Buildings Ordinance and other relevant criminal laws, would depend on the investigation’s findings.
Reports said floor-slab reinforcement did not match the plans; HK01 reported that some reinforcement was suspected to be short by up to 75%.
The affected detached house received an occupancy permit in 2023. The Buildings Department was still investigating on 15 October and had no further information to share. Linn said hidden areas might not have been visible when the permit was issued.
She expected the Buildings Department to explain publicly after the investigation.
