A water main burst outside Yau Mei Court at 80 Lei Yue Mun Road at 12.37pm on 14 October, causing the road to subside. The jet of water was reported to reach nearly 10 metres, almost three storeys high.
The Transport Department announced that all lanes towards Lei Yue Mun Estate were closed near Lei Yue Mun Road Playground. Police also closed an area of about 20 metres around the burst site.
Water Supplies Department staff were reported to have shut the valve, while engineering staff were carrying out repairs. The Transport Department advised motorists to consider other roads, including Ko Chiu Road.
