A 50-year-old franchised bus driver has been charged with dangerous driving causing the deaths of two people after a fatal crash involving a Long Win Bus on Hong Kong’s Lantau Link near Tsing Yi. The taxi driver and a male passenger died after being taken to hospital.
The prosecution alleges that the driver was driving a public bus dangerously near road marker 15.3W on the airport-bound carriageway on 30 March, when it struck a taxi stopped ahead. The charge concerns the deaths of both people in the taxi.
The driver appeared at Sha Tin Magistrates’ Court on 29 September. The case was adjourned on the prosecution’s application while further investigation continues.
He was granted HK$10,000 bail. Ming Pao reported that he must live at his stated address and not contact prosecution witnesses. The case is due back at Sha Tin Magistrates’ Court on 25 November 2026.
