The Central Harbourfront Event Space has begun opening to the public in stages, initially offering its outdoor rest area. This initial opening is scheduled to run until October 16, with the venue open from 9am to 11pm each day.
Visitors can use seating, movable sofas and outdoor rest areas as more facilities are added during the improvement programme. The first stage, expected to be completed during October, includes improved ground surfaces, a jogging path and shared-bicycle rental for use along the waterfront promenade. The venue will also have a large stage, event toilets and multipurpose rooms, which can reduce repeated installation and dismantling of temporary facilities.
A second stage is expected around mid-2027, adding permanent food kiosks and more sports facilities. The operator, CENTRAL GRAND LIMITED, says its lease requires at least 100 days each year to be reserved for free public use or public-facing activities organised by government departments, relevant organisations, non-profit groups or charities. During smaller events, it says non-event areas may remain open through flexible layouts.
After October 16, the venue will close temporarily for major-event preparation and site set-up. Visitors should check the operator’s social-media updates or the notice at the entrance for the latest opening dates and hours.
