The Centre for Food Safety urged the public on 7 October 2026 not to eat a French-imported cheese that may be contaminated with Shiga toxin-producing E. coli. Businesses holding the affected product were told to stop using or selling it.

The product is Camembert Bertrand Crémier 250g. Check the pack for batch number 232511 and the date marked 17 October 2026.

The Centre said it received a contamination alert through the European Commission’s food and feed rapid alert system. Its initial investigation found that Repertoire Culinaire Hong Kong Limited had imported the affected batch. At the Centre’s direction, the importer stopped sales, removed the batch from sale and began a recall.

Consumers can call the importer on 3758 2754 during office hours to ask about the recall.
