Explosive-ordnance personnel went to a shared district councillors’ office on Peace Avenue, Ho Man Tin, after staff reported a suspicious letter to police at about 2pm on 1 October.

Police said officers believed the letter contained no dangerous item after inspecting it. They seized it for further testing, and Kowloon City district crime investigators were handling the case. No one was reported injured and no arrest had been made.

The office is shared by councillors Lau Yuen-yin and Lai Yin-chung. Lai told HK01 that the letter contained no suspicious powder but included photographs and other disturbing material. He declined to give further details while police handled the matter. Lau also said she could not comment because of the investigation.
