A vehicle reportedly lost control and crashed into a roadside stone barrier near Fung Ying Sin Koon on Po Wan Road, Fanling, at about 10pm on September 8, 2026. A male driver was trapped or found unconscious inside and was rescued by firefighters before being taken by ambulance to North District Hospital for emergency treatment.
The Transport Department said the fast lane of Po Wan Road towards Sheung Shui, near Fung Ying Sin Koon, was closed because of the crash. Motorists were restricted to the remaining lane or lanes.
The driver was reported by Ming Pao and Star Headline to be about 53 years old. Ming Pao and i-CABLE News reported that he was unconscious and receiving treatment at the hospital, while Star Headline said he was pronounced dead at 11:28pm.
