The High Court continued hearing evidence on 31 August 2026 from complainant C, who told the court that the defendant touched her and pressed her down in a private car while taking her home or to her accommodation after a Hong Kong Education University orientation camp. Y.L.H., now 31 and aged 28 at the time of the alleged offences, has pleaded not guilty to one count of rape, three counts of indecent assault and one count of voyeurism.
C said she was left alone in the car with Y.L.H. after other passengers had departed. She told the court that he placed a hand on her thigh, and that she used a soft toy in the car to push his hand away before telling him not to touch her. She said she was afraid.
According to C’s account reported by Ming Pao, Y.L.H. stopped on a road surrounded by trees and undergrowth, saying he was tired. He covered part of the car’s windows, lowered a seat and rested his head on her thigh. C said he later asked whether he could hug her, but continued after she told him not to touch her and said she wanted to go home. She said he pressed her down on the seat, and that she eventually pushed him away and broke free before demanding to leave.
The reports differ over the precise physical contact C described. Ming Pao reported that she said Y.L.H. touched her chest after pressing her down, while Star Headline reported that she said he rubbed her lower body over her clothing for several seconds. Both reports said C told the court that she pushed him away and broke free; the supplied accounts do not establish whether the descriptions refer to the same act or separate alleged acts.
The case concerns five complainants and alleged incidents between January and August 2023. The charges relate to alleged indecent assault involving woman A at Fei Ngo Shan in Wong Tai Sin, an alleged rape of woman B at a room in Po Leung Kuk Jockey Club Tai Tong Holiday Camp in Yuen Long, the alleged indecent assault of C in a roadside car in the New Territories, the alleged indecent assault of woman D at the Hong Kong Young Women’s Christian Association Leung Shiu Rong Resort, and an alleged voyeurism offence involving woman E at the same resort.
The court also played a recording of Y.L.H.’s police interview on 27 July 2023 concerning B. He said they had held hands and kissed while playing a game, followed by consensual sex, and that he had not perceived any refusal. That was his account, rather than a finding by the court. The trial remains ongoing, with the court still to assess the complainants’ evidence and decide whether the charges are proved.
