The defence is challenging complainant A’s account of an alleged sexual assault in a car, questioning her in the High Court about messages, meetings and events before the incident. A gave evidence by video link and acknowledged that she had met Y.L.H. alone more than once, according to the report of proceedings on 26 August.
Y.L.H., reported as 31, denies five charges arising from alleged incidents in 2023 involving five women: one count of rape, three counts of indecent assault and one count of voyeurism. The prosecution alleges sexual offences against four women and covert observation of a fifth.
The prosecution alleges that Y.L.H. told A he would drive her home after they met on 12 January 2023, but took her to Fei Ngo Shan the following day. It alleges that he kissed her, touched her breasts, guided her hand on to his penis and ejaculated on her abdomen after she objected to the conduct. A’s account is disputed by the defence, which says she consented.
Defence counsel questioned A about messages in which she allegedly said she was at a bar and gave Y.L.H. detailed directions to reach it. A testified that she had met him through Instagram in December 2022 and had declined earlier invitations to dine or drink before meeting him in January. The competing accounts of how she came to meet him before the alleged car incident have not been resolved.
The other allegations concern a rape at the Po Leung Kuk Jockey Club Tai Tong Holiday Camp in Yuen Long on 23 July 2023; an alleged indecent assault of C in a car on 23 August; and an alleged indecent assault of D at the Hong Kong Young Women’s Christian Association Leung Shiu-rong Holiday Camp on Lantau Island on 27 August. Y.L.H. reportedly admits the sexual conduct involving B but says it was consensual, denies the allegation involving D, and says the alleged observation of E while she showered at the Lantau camp on 28 August was unintentional.
The trial opened in the High Court on 25 August 2026 before a jury of six men and one woman. Further evidence and defence submissions are expected as the proceedings continue.
