A letter containing unidentified powder prompted an evacuation at HK01’s newsroom at Ever Gain Plaza in Kwai Chung on October 21, as police and specialist responders attended.
Police arrived at about 3pm, alongside specialist police officers and explosives-disposal personnel. Fire-service hazardous-materials responders and a decontamination vehicle also attended. Explosives-disposal officers later removed a plastic box suspected of containing items related to the case.
HK01 later said the letter and powder had been handed to police for testing. The company said all staff were safe and office and editorial work remained normal.
