The government expects to begin legislative work in 2027 to reclaim the remaining ownership rights at Wang Fuk Court, Deputy Financial Secretary and acting Housing Secretary Michael Wong Wai-lun said.

Nearly 95% of owners had signed sale-and-purchase agreements, while 13 households had said they would not accept the government’s offer.

The government will not start legislative work immediately: voluntary purchases and home selection are still under way, and officials want to avoid sending confusing messages.

Some title-transfer deeds may still be processed through the end of 2026 as owners choose homes. The government plans to discuss the legislation with the Legislative Council.
