The Hong Kong Federation of Trade Unions has registered 46 trade-union representatives for the 2026 Election Committee labour-sector election as nominations opened.
The federation’s council approved the slate on 5 October. It includes former Legislative Council members Kwok Wai-keung and Michael Luk Chung-hung.
The federation’s 13-point platform proposes giving local workers priority in employment, unlocking labour capacity and taking stronger action against illegal labour. It also calls for a statutory collective-bargaining mechanism to protect labour rights.
The labour sector has 60 Election Committee seats.
The nomination period runs from 7 October to 20 October 2026, with voting scheduled for 22 November.
