Hong Kong’s month-long Museum Festival opened on Oct. 31 with an outdoor carnival featuring stalls inspired by old Hong Kong. Organised by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, this year’s festival has the theme “Hong Kong Story” and runs through the end of November.

The programme includes more than 60 activities across 17 museums and art spaces, including workshops, concerts, expert talks, guided tours and performances.

The two-day opening carnival is at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre’s outdoor piazza in Tsim Sha Tsui. Its stalls include a tea stall, a Chinese medicine shop and a coin-tossing stall, alongside five free workshops.

A local resident told Commercial Radio that trying to dispense medicine for the first time was harder than expected. They said they hoped for more activities with local elements.
