The government’s Working Group on Developing Tourist Hotspots plans to roll out four tourism projects in phases from the fourth quarter of 2026. They include visits to industrial facilities, a miniature-city exhibition at the Peak, temple-culture activities and a year-round programme in Yuen Long.
The next phase of the industrial-brand scheme is expected to include a Kowloon Motor Bus depot, the MTR’s Station Rail Voyage: Explorer exhibition and Beijing Tong Ren Tang’s Hong Kong production and research base. Visitors will tour participating facilities in groups to learn about the brands’ histories and how their products are made. The Travel Industry Council of Hong Kong will coordinate bookings for local travel agents.
At Peak Tower, Madame Tussauds Hong Kong plans to recreate the Hong Kong Miniature City Exhibition, with miniature artworks showing local landmarks, customs and everyday life. The Chinese Temples Committee is adding QR-code display boards at its temples and using an app to let visitors explore temple artefacts and redeem cultural souvenirs. The government is also studying possible walking itineraries linking temples with historic buildings and heritage sites across districts.
The Yuen Long District Office will work with local groups on Seasons of Yuen Long, encouraging themed visits throughout the year. Examples include watching the Tin Hau Festival parade in Yuen Long town centre and autumn and winter outings to natural sites to look for red leaves and migratory birds. A tourism map, themed website and information boards near town-centre and rural landmarks are expected to roll out in stages from the fourth quarter of 2026 to the first quarter of 2027.
