Hong Kong will host the APEC Finance Ministers’ Meeting on October 20 and 21, with preparations continuing for the delegations expected to attend.

The Ministry of Finance is handling participant registration and accreditation, while the Hong Kong SAR government is assisting delegations and helping organise the event locally. Arrangements include hotel accommodation, transport and reception services in line with APEC requirements.

Chief Executive John Lee said the programme would extend beyond the formal meetings to include a welcome dinner, seminars and visits.

The discussions are expected to cover global and regional economic conditions, fiscal policies supporting livelihoods, digital infrastructure, financing, inclusive finance and cooperation among young APEC financial professionals.

Lee did not confirm whether US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent would attend the meeting.
