Transport information and signage at the new Huanggang port’s public transport interchange are ready, the Transport Department said, ahead of the crossing’s opening. The arrangements are intended to help passengers find the right bus or minibus.
Display screens at key locations and boarding areas will show bus and minibus destinations, stops and boarding positions. Large directional signs will use transport-mode icons, route numbers and directions, while operators have installed route signs and queue rails to organise waiting and boarding.
During the initial period after the crossing opens, service ambassadors will be stationed on the second-floor concourse. The department said they will help travellers choose routes into urban areas, identify boarding points, make transfers and find overnight transport.
HK01 reported that October 12 was being widely rumoured as the opening date. The Transport Department said it would continue reviewing and improving the information systems using passenger feedback.
