World snooker champion Kyren Wilson said on 3 October on social media that he had obtained Hong Kong resident status through the Quality Migrant Admission Scheme.
His Hong Kong identity card has not yet been issued. Wilson uploaded a receipt for his application.
Wilson said he was delighted to obtain the status, describing Hong Kong as one of his favourite places. He said he had made many good memories there over the years and looked forward to making more and building a future in the city.
He also thanked Director of Immigration Benson Kwok Joon-fung for helping him realise his wish to settle in Hong Kong.
Wilson is a British professional snooker player who won the 2024 World Snooker Championship, beating Jak Jones 18-14 in the final to claim his first world title.
