A projection show runs on the stone wall and nearby pavement along D’Aguilar Street in Lan Kwai Fong on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. It plays from 7pm until 2am the following day, with three-minute clips repeating every 10 minutes.
The Development Bureau says the first phase of the area’s beautification project was completed on schedule before Halloween. It included resurfacing pedestrian and vehicle areas in the core of Lan Kwai Fong with distinctive patterns.
A 43-metre mural on a retaining wall beside D’Aguilar Street depicts Lan Kwai Fong’s past and present. A QR code is planned for a later addition, allowing visitors to find more information about the area.
The Bureau plans to begin a consultancy study in the first quarter of 2027 to prepare for the second phase, which is expected to cover nearby streets including Wellington Street, Lyndhurst Terrace and Pottinger Street. It expects resurfacing of the remaining vehicle roads in the core area to be completed in stages from mid-2027. Preliminary ideas for the next phase include improving street facilities and pedestrian signs, and the potential use of Lok Hing Lane Sitting-out Area as an open-air theatre.
