A 57-year-old learner motorcyclist was injured after losing control near the So Kon Po Driving Test Centre in Causeway Bay on September 3. His motorcycle was displaying an L plate.
The crash happened at about 11am, with one report putting the time at 11.43am. The motorcycle first hit a parked motorcycle belonging to a Transport Department driving examiner before striking a stone barrier.
Ming Pao reported that the man, surnamed Leung, was practising figure-eight manoeuvres when he lost control. The detail was not included in the other report.
The learner was injured and remained conscious when he was taken by ambulance to Ruttonjee Hospital. Reports differed on the injury, describing it as affecting his left knee or his foot.
The case is being followed up by the sixth team of the Hong Kong Island Traffic Accident Investigation Team. Reports also differed over the precise location and extent of minor damage to the motorcycles.
