Lee Cheuk-yan, former chair of the dissolved Hong Kong Alliance in Support of Patriotic Democratic Movements of China, applied on 8 October to appeal both his conviction for inciting subversion and his seven-year prison sentence.

Lee was convicted after trial. The Alliance and another former vice-chair were also convicted after trial, while a third former office-holder pleaded guilty before the trial. The other former vice-chair had sought to appeal her conviction and sentence earlier.

Judiciary records cited by the reports showed that no hearing date had been scheduled for Lee’s appeal.
