Customs and Excise Department officers arrested a local 37-year-old man on September 29 on suspicion of handling property believed to represent proceeds from an indictable offence. The department said about HK$3.6 million in suspected criminal proceeds had been received through other people’s bank accounts between February 2024 and May 2026.
The arrest followed a May investigation into an online shop allegedly selling counterfeit perfume and skincare products. On May 26, officers searched a warehouse in an industrial building in San Po Kong and seized 2,500 suspected counterfeit items valued at about HK$1.5 million.
The man was arrested under the Organised and Serious Crimes Ordinance, and officers also searched his residence. He was released on bail pending investigation. Customs said the case remained active and further arrests had not been ruled out.
