A man in his 60s died after collapsing while repairing plumbing at his home in Kam Ying Court, Ma On Shan, on October 12. Family members found him at about 9pm, and rescue personnel took him unconscious to Prince of Wales Hospital, where he died at about 10pm.
His daughter suspected that a pipe or fitting had struck him. Police were investigating whether he had been hit or had collapsed for another reason.
HK01, citing information from the scene, reported that a salt-water pipe at the building had burst recently and the man's home had been flooded. Flushing water had been suspended and was restored on October 12.
