A 48-year-old man has been sentenced to 22 years in prison for 15 sexual offences against his daughter over about a decade. The sentence was handed down at the High Court on 18 August 2026.
The charges comprised 14 counts of rape and one count of non-consensual anal intercourse. Star Headline reported that the defendant had admitted the 15 charges, while i-CABLE reported that he was found guilty of them.
The sexual offences reportedly began when the victim was about 14 and continued from 2014 to 2024. She sought police help after being sexually assaulted again at about the age of 24.
Judge Kwok Tung-ming said the defendant had treated his daughter as a sexual object and disregarded the physical and psychological trauma inflicted on her. He described the defendant’s remorse as superficial and said the guilty plea was made because conviction was unavoidable.
i-CABLE reported that some of the assaults took place in the defendant’s unit and that the victim later developed post-traumatic stress disorder and depressive disorder. Star Headline separately reported that the defendant had threatened her and assaulted her when she was menstruating or ill.
The final sentence was 22 years’ imprisonment, with i-CABLE reporting that some of the terms would run concurrently. The supplied reports give no further information about the next procedural step.
