A man was reported to be in a dangerous position on the rooftop of an eight-storey tenement building at 1 Szechuen Street, To Kwa Wan, at about 7am on August 21. Star Headline reported that he was standing dangerously, while Ming Pao said he was wandering on the rooftop and sitting precariously on the edge of a parapet.

Police and firefighters attended the scene. Part of the nearby road network was closed during the operation; Star Headline specified that vehicles were barred from entering a section of Ha Heung Road between Chi Kiang Street and Lok Shan Road. Firefighters deployed an air cushion at ground level as a precaution.

Police officers tried to persuade the man to leave the rooftop. Ming Pao reported that police negotiators also went to the scene to assist with the operation.

The reports did not say whether the man eventually left the rooftop safely or whether anyone was injured. They also did not provide his identity, the reason for the incident or the outcome of the police operation.
