A circulated clip from a fight at the Wine & Dine Festival at Central Harbourfront Event Space on Halloween night showed a man being attacked by two men near a food stall. A bystander tried to intervene.
Police said a 24-year-old man suffered a facial injury and was taken to hospital. Officers received a report of a fight at the festival at 11.49pm on 31 October.
Police initially received a report that the fight may have been over buying alcohol. After investigating, they believed it involved a dispute with a food-stall operator over a purchase, followed by an assault.
They classified the case as assault occasioning actual bodily harm and said they were pursuing a suspect.
