A man became unconscious at the Hong Kong Jockey Club clubhouse at 21 Shan Kwong Road, Happy Valley, on September 5, 2026, and was taken by ambulance to Ruttonjee Hospital.
Police were investigating the incident. Ming Pao reported that the case was classified as one involving an unconscious person.
The reported timing was unclear: Ming Pao said the incident happened at about 9am, while Star Headline put it at 9.42am.
The two reports also gave different accounts of the circumstances. Star Headline reported that the man was 83 and collapsed while attending a tai chi class in a practice room. Ming Pao described him as being in his 40s and said he collapsed at the clubhouse tennis court after a report from a Jockey Club staff member.
The supplied reports did not establish the man’s medical condition or outcome after he arrived at Ruttonjee Hospital, or what caused him to lose consciousness. Police were continuing to investigate, with the reported age, location and circumstances still unresolved.
