A Mercedes-Benz van was reported smoking or catching fire on the Tseung Kwan O-bound Tseung Kwan O Tunnel Road near Hong Sing Garden at about 11pm on the 21st. The female driver reported the incident, and firefighters attended to investigate. No one was injured.
The accounts differ on whether the vehicle actually caught fire or was smoking from underneath. Reports said police or tunnel staff attended before firefighters arrived. Star Headline reported that tunnel staff noticed the incident and helped deal with it.
