More than 100 people were evacuated after a flat caught fire at Sau Lai House in Yau Lai Estate at about 10.50am.
The flat’s resident said she and her son had been trapped inside. About 20 other residents were also reported trapped on a rear staircase; all were later rescued.
Two people were initially reported injured. One was a woman about 70 who lived in the flat. She was reportedly briefly unconscious but had regained consciousness by the time she was taken to hospital.
Firefighters largely extinguished the fire after about half an hour. Its cause was under investigation.
