More than 670 households at Kwong Chi House in Kwong Fuk Estate, Tai Po, were left without water and use of the building’s lifts on October 6 after a pipe leak was reported in its ground-floor water-pipe room.

The leak was identified during an inspection. The management company arranged emergency repairs, with bottled water distributed in the lobby and a nearby tap opened for residents who needed supplies.

The Water Supplies Department arranged a water truck at the estate at 9.35pm to provide a temporary supply. Water supply to some units was expected to resume around midnight.

Both lifts were also affected. The contractor initially assessed that replacement parts were needed, so the lifts might return to service on October 7 at the earliest.
