A fire broke out at Fengcheng Restaurant at 62 Java Road, North Point, at about 4pm on August 15, 2026. No injuries were reported, and the fire was in the restaurant’s first-floor kitchen.
Firefighters arriving shortly after the report found visible flames and heavy smoke in the kitchen. Its automatic sprinkler system activated and extinguished the fire during the emergency response.
The cause had not been determined. The report said the fire was suspected to have started when a stove flared up while chefs were cooking, but this had not been confirmed.
The cause remained under investigation. The restaurant might not have opened for business that evening because of the incident.
