A northeast monsoon replenishment is expected to reach coastal areas overnight, bringing cooler, drier weather to Hong Kong from Tuesday, according to the Hong Kong Observatory.
Monday, October 5, is forecast to remain mainly cloudy, with a few showers at first and temperatures between 25°C and 31°C. The weather is expected to turn noticeably cooler on Tuesday and Wednesday, when urban morning temperatures are forecast to fall to 23°C.
Parts of the New Territories could be another 2°C to 3°C cooler. Ta Kwu Ling is forecast to reach 19°C on Wednesday morning, while relative humidity could fall to about 45% that day.
Conditions are expected to become mostly fine and dry from Thursday. Temperatures are then forecast to rise, reaching as high as 31°C later in the nine-day outlook.
