Officer paralysed in 2005 attack honoured at full-honours funeral

The procession stopped at the station where he had served, with his daughter carrying his portrait.

A funeral with full honours for senior police constable Chu Chun-kwok was followed by a farewell ceremony at Cheung Sha Wan police station. Fellow officers carried his coffin, covered with the HKSAR flag, while his daughter carried his portrait.

Chu was paralysed after being attacked while on duty in 2005. HK01 reported that he died on 16 September 2026, aged 52, after 21 years bedridden.

The funeral began at 10.30am on Friday at the Universal Funeral Parlour in Hung Hom. The procession then travelled to the station, where officers lined up to pay their respects.

Burial at Gallant Garden was scheduled for around 12.30pm.
