Police arrested four males after raiding three suspected drug storage sites in Kwai Chung and Tsuen Wan on August 18, according to reports published on August 20.
Officers seized more than 1.4kg of suspected ketamine, over 700 grams of suspected crack cocaine and about 150 grams of suspected drugs known as “Happy powder”. The drugs were reported to have a total market value of about HK$1.4 million.
Reports differed in their descriptions of the detainees. One said three of the four were young people, while another said all four were aged between 16 and 19 and that one was a secondary school student.
Police initially believed that someone had recruited summer workers to deliver drugs for between HK$500 and HK$700, according to one report.
A senior inspector from the Operations Group of the Police Narcotics Bureau said officers had searched the three suspected storage sites and arrested the people allegedly involved.
The reports gave no information on whether the four had been formally charged or on further legal proceedings.
