Police said they seized 119 packs of suspected ketamine, weighing about 15kg and worth about HK$6 million, from a residential unit on Hillwood Road in Tsim Sha Tsui on 14 October.

The drugs were concealed inside appliances including ice makers and toasters, as well as in compartments in their packaging. A senior inspector said the items had to be dismantled, and in some cases damaged, to find the drugs.

Police said initial inquiries suggested the 32-year-old man arrested at the unit had been recruited because of debt to manage a drug storehouse and supply entertainment venues in the area. He was in custody and expected to be charged with one count of trafficking in dangerous drugs, with an appearance scheduled at Kowloon City Magistrates' Courts on 16 October.
