A letter marked “POISON” and bearing a skull symbol, with white powder inside, prompted a bomb-disposal response at a commercial building at 3 Humphreys Avenue in Tsim Sha Tsui at about 9:28am on 6 October 2026. The letter was sent to a mailbox at the building’s management office for the person in charge of a ground-floor bakery, and a security guard reported it to police.

The Explosive Ordnance Disposal Bureau attended in protective equipment. Police cordoned the building entrance and nearby areas, and temporarily closed Humphreys Avenue to vehicles.

Police initially assessed the powder as flour. A later examination found no explosive components and no immediate danger. The letter was taken away for further testing.

Police classified the case as criminal intimidation and referred it for follow-up. No arrest had been reported.
