Hong Kong’s third cybersecurity attack-and-defence exercise ended on the night of 31 October after 60 hours. Designated information systems of private enterprises took part for the first time.
The 51 defensive teams covered 28 government departments and 23 public bodies, alongside the participating private-enterprise systems. A further 23 teams carried out simulated attacks.
The exercise used simulated real-world cyber threats to seek system vulnerabilities and test participants’ defences and response capabilities.
The Digital Policy Office said all participating systems and services operated normally throughout. An exercise report is to be provided to participating government departments, public bodies and private enterprises for reference and follow-up.
