A senior Correctional Services Department officer is alleged to have damaged facilities in two incidents at Pik Uk Prison, according to reports citing sources.
In one alleged incident, the officer saw wastewater flowing from an exterior pipe during a patrol and removed it. In another, the officer allegedly pulled down two monitors in a night-shift duty room, damaging one.
The accounts differ on when the incidents happened: HK01 reported one in August and another in September, while Star Headline said both occurred in September, about a week apart.
The Correctional Services Department said enforcement agencies were following up. Police said they received a departmental referral on September 15 concerning malicious damage to government property and that no one had been arrested.
