The Opatra London beauty shop at New Town Plaza in Sha Tin has suspended business and posted a notice outside while a sales dispute involving goods worth HK$61,400 is being followed up.

The 58-year-old woman told police that she bought the goods at the shop last month and suspected she had been deceived. Her account is an allegation and does not establish that a criminal offence was committed.

Police said they received the report on August 12 and sent officers to investigate. They initially considered that the case did not involve criminal elements and classified it as a “dispute”.

Customs said it was actively following up on the matter.

The shop remained closed when the matter was reported on August 16. The exact date and reason for the suspension, as well as whether the business has responded, were not provided.
