High-speed rail services departing from Hong Kong West Kowloon Station were delayed by a signal fault on the morning of September 6, 2026, according to the Transport Department. The disruption affected Hong Kong’s cross-border rail connections and prompted passengers to seek updates before travelling.
Reports said delayed services included trains bound for Futian, Shenzhen North, Guangzhou East and Fuzhou. Star Headline also reported that southbound trains were delayed in departing from the station.
The Transport Department said it was notified by MTR about the disruption at 8:27am. MTR later said the signal fault had been handled at about 9am, after which services were gradually recovering, rather than confirming that all services had fully returned to normal.
