Sincere Department Store’s branch on Des Voeux Road Central is expected to trade until the end of 2026, when its lease expires. The precise closing date has not been confirmed.

The store is running a clearance sale with prices as low as 20% of their original level. Customers buying selected women’s clothing, footwear or handbags can receive an additional 10% discount when buying two items, or 15% when buying three. The offer runs through 4 October, with further offers possible later.

Sincere Department Store said in a 16 June announcement that its Mong Kok branch at King Wah Centre and online shop would continue operating. Once the Central branch closes, the Mong Kok store is expected to be the business’s only remaining physical branch in Hong Kong.

A worker who has been at the Central branch for about 12 years told Ming Pao that the company had not yet arranged where staff would go in future, although she intended to remain in sales. Another employee said regular customers had returned after the discounts began. One shopper interviewed by the newspaper described the branch’s closure as regrettable.

The business was founded in 1900, and the current Central premises in Li Po Chun Chambers have housed the branch since 2013.
