KMB and Citybus plan to start six bus routes to the new Huanggang port when it opens on Monday, 12 October. Full fares will range from HK$10.5 to HK$27.6, depending on the route and destination.
KMB’s B10 will run between the port and Kwai Tsui Estate in Kwai Fong for HK$12.1, while B11 will serve Tin Fu Court in Tin Shui Wai for HK$10.5. The third service, overnight route NB73, will connect the port with Sha Tin town centre for HK$22.6, passing through Sheung Shui and Tai Po.
Citybus’s B13 will link the port with Island Resort in Siu Sai Wan for HK$27.6. B14 will serve Olympic Avenue in Kai Tak for HK$20.8, and B15 will run to Castle Peak Bay in Tuen Mun for HK$15.5.
B13 is scheduled to run daily from 6am to 12.30am, with a bus every 30 minutes. From Island Resort, it will pass through Chai Wan, Shau Kei Wan, Tai Koo, North Point and Central before reaching the port.
KMB says eligible transfers between the new routes and more than 100 KMB and Long Win routes will cost passengers the higher of the two fares, rather than both fares. Its monthly pass will cover all three new routes, and a first-month promotion will offer fare rebates of up to HK$40.
Citybus operations director Roger Ma said passengers travelling from elsewhere on Hong Kong Island on the company’s existing network and changing to B13 would pay a combined HK$27.6—the same as B13’s standalone fare. The company has also partnered with Alipay to offer passengers a HK$2 voucher.
Other planned connections include a daytime New Lantao Bus route between the port and Wu Kai Sha MTR station. Six green minibus routes, including three overnight services, and five 24-hour cross-boundary coach routes are also due to serve the crossing.
