A 15-candidate slate has registered to contest all 15 elected seats for the Election Committee’s sports, performing arts, culture and publishing sector. The nomination period opened on 7 October, and 13 of the candidates are current members of the sector committee.

The two newcomers are Anna CY Chan, director of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, and Lisa Hui Ping-sum, a performing arts association chair.

The sector has 30 seats: 15 are nominated by organisations and 15 are elected. Ming Pao reports that 246 group voters choose the elected members.

The slate says its platform includes cross-sector collaboration, attracting major international and national sports events, linking creative industries with technology, and joint publishing in the Greater Bay Area.

Nominations close on 20 October, with polling scheduled for 22 November 2026.
