A 15-year-old girl was taken to hospital after she was allegedly struck during a dispute with her father at a residential unit in Lei Yue Mun on Sunday night. Police were reportedly called to Lei Sang House, Lei Yue Mun Estate, at about 8.35pm on 16 August after a resident reported that someone in a nearby unit was injured.
Police reportedly believed the girl and her 57-year-old father had argued over a trivial matter, during which the man allegedly hit her with his hand. The circumstances of the dispute have not been established.
The girl reportedly suffered injuries to her nose, face and hand. She remained conscious and was taken by ambulance to United Christian Hospital for treatment.
Police reportedly arrested the father on suspicion of ill-treating or neglecting a child or young person. The case was referred to the first team of the Kwun Tong District Crime Investigation Team for follow-up investigation. The allegations remain unproven.
